Hey, I’m Sophie.
MNU Certified Nutritionist and founder of Soph’s Balanced Life, based in Tooting, London.
I’m a Certified Nutritionist helping busy, active people (mostly, but not exclusive to!) support their health and performance in a way that feels balanced, realistic and sustainable. For me, good nutrition should help you get more from life, not take over it. It should give you enough structure to support your goals but still have plenty of room for meals out, holidays, busy weeks, celebrations and simply enjoying food!
My own relationship with food hasn’t always been as healthy as it is today. Like a lot of people, I grew up surrounded by diet culture and messages about what we should eat, what our bodies should look like and what counted as being “healthy”. Studying nutrition helped me question a lot of of those ideas and finally find an approach that actually supports my health, body composition, training and enjoyment together, rather than feeling like I had to choose between them.
That’s really where Soph’s Balanced Life came from: my belief that nutrition shouldn’t take up more space than it gives back. And now I want to help you look after your health, reach your goals and still have plenty of room for a full life too!
Before studying nutrition, my background has been in design, where I still love to bring my problem-solving mindset to the way I support clients: looking at the whole picture, identifying what will make the biggest difference and designing an approach around each person rather than forcing anyone into a generic plan.
And outside of nutrition, you’ll usually find me running, strength training, travelling, trying somewhere new to eat, heading to a gig or spending time with friends and family.
Thank you so much for being here and if any of this resonates with you, let’s chat 🙂

What working with me is like
You won’t be expected to eat perfectly, follow a rigid meal plan or organise your life around nutrition.
We’ll look at what you’re already doing, identify where changes could be useful and find practical ways to make them work for you. Sometimes that might mean changing what you eat, but other times it might be about timing, portions, planning, fuelling or simply making what you already do work a little better.
My role is to give you expert guidance, but also to listen, ask questions and help you find an approach you feel comfortable putting into practice.
HOW I CAN HELP
Health & everyday nutrition
Supporting energy levels, building balanced meals, habit building, healthy ageing and your long-term health. Making sense of conflicting advice and building an approach that lasts.
Weight & body composition
Weight management including weight loss (incl. GLP-1 support), weight maintenance or muscle-building goals (body composition), all approached with health, flexibility and sustainability in mind.
Specific clinical needs
Support with areas such as blood glucose control for pre-diabetes and Type 2 Diabetes, blood pressure and cholesterol levels as well as PCOS and IBS support, where appropriate.
Performance nutrition
Focused sports and performance nutrition guidance for recreational athletes and active people. Including fuelling, recovery, hydration and race or event strategies.
Why being evidence-based is so important
Nutrition advice should make things clearer, not more complicated
There’s no shortage of nutrition information out there. The difficult part is knowing what’s accurate, what’s relevant to you and how to actually put it into practice.
My approach is evidence-based, which means my recommendations are grounded in nutrition science rather than trends, opinions or the latest thing doing the rounds on social media. My training covered both nutrition science and its practical application, as well as how to critically evaluate nutrition research.
But evidence-based nutrition isn’t just about what the research says. Good advice also needs to take you into account – your health, goals, preferences, lifestyle and what you can realistically put into practice.
That’s why I won’t give you rules for the sake of rules, recommend supplements you don’t need or make your nutrition more complicated than it needs to be. I’ll help you understand what matters for you, why it matters and how you can apply it in a way that works for your life.
Because ultimately, good nutrition advice shouldn’t leave you with more information to worry about. It should leave you clearer and more confident about what to do next.
